1. Enter the Public Service Recruitment Portal on https://recruitment.gov.mt/en/page/home.
2. If you are registering for the first time, proceed to Point 3. If you have already registered and created a Personal Profile, proceed to Point 22.
3. If you already possess an e-ID account, log into the portal with your e-ID username and password. Click on [SIGN-IN]. Please proceed to Point 13.
4. If you do NOT possess an e-ID account click on [non e-ID holders click here]
5. Click on [To register click here]. Please note that by clicking [To register click here], you will ONLY be registering on the Recruitment Portal as a non e-ID profile, and not to obtain an actual e-ID account.
6. Fill in your personal details as in Figure 3 and include your choice of username and password at the bottom.
7. When ready, click on [Save] which is to be found at the lower end of the list.
8. After a few moments you will receive an automatic electronic message from automailer AT gov.mt on your e-mail account with the following details:
9. Once you activate your account, please go back to the main page of the portal
10. Click on [non e-ID holders click here]
11. Insert the username and password you have supplied when registering and which was confirmed to you through the e-mail message.
12. You are now logged in the system. You may now proceed to insert your personal information and update it accordingly in your Profile Account. Please note that the setting-up of your Profile Account is only done once and will remain valid for all your future log-ins and applications through the Portal.
13. On the main page of the Recruitment Portal, click on the [Applications] tab
14. Now click on the Profile tab
15. In the next page (Figure 6), click on each tab [Personal Details], [Qualifications], [Education & Training], [Work Experience], [Personal Skills] and [Other Details] and insert details for each section as you would include in your Curriculum Vitae. Make sure you click on [Save] each time you input details or effect any changes in order to save your entries.
16. In order to attach a file to your profile (e.g. your Curriculum Vitae or your Service & Leave Record Sheet (GP 47), as required in the application), proceed to the next point. One should note that only files in PDF or JPG format are supported by the Portal. Please convert your files accordingly before attempting to upload them. Files should not be larger than 1 megabyte.
17. Click on the [Files] tab
18. Click on [Browse] under [File Management] to locate the document you wish to upload from your hard-disk, or memory stick, etc.
19. You can select a file name and a description, which would help you to easily identify the file later on. Once ready, click [Add File]
20. The file you have selected will be uploaded to your profile and will be sent with your application once you submit your application.
21. When the Profile Account is completed, you can start the process of submitting your application.
22. In order to view all the vacancies currently available, click on the [Career Opportunities] on the home page.
23. You can opt to list the Vacancies by clicking on one of the options [Vacancies by Qualifications], [Vacancies in Public Service/Entities], [All Vacancies] or [View Vacancies that match my qualifications]. It is advisable to click on [All Vacancies] as in Figure 9, to view all the current available calls.
24. When you have made your selection, the next screen provides you with the calls currently available. Click on the particular call you are interested in, as in Figure 10. Please note that this screen also gives you additional information, such as the closing date for the call and the status of the application.
25. Upon clicking on the particular call, the details of the call appear. Scroll down to read all the information. The call is divided into different entries, which are shown on the left-hand side of the screen. These include the type of call, the issue and closing dates, details of all the positions available, any requirements, conditions, ancillary notes or information on the selection process and any further instructions.
Once you make your choice and intend to apply, click on [Apply Now], as in Figure 11. One should note that by clicking the [Apply Now] button, one is only expressing his/her interest in continuing the process for submitting an application. The submission is not yet complete, and can be stopped by selecting the back arrow.
