CNHSK Chinese Proficiency Internet-Based Test
The HSK Internet-Based Test is authorized by Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban); it is a new form of test, technologically one step up from the original Paper-and-Pencil Test.

It includes listening, writing, and oral segments. The test is distributed to test takers and answers are submitted electronically.
The HSK Internet-Based Test allows test takers to have one more choice out of other test formats. It helps improve test takers’Chinese proficiency, as well as promote Chinese language in the information era and its application on Internet.
The Confucius Institute E-Learning Center was authorized by Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban) in April 2010; it is the very first Internet-Based test center for the Chinese proficiency test. It takes on the HSK Internet-Based Test as well as the construction of the web system.

Extended registration period:
The preparation time for the test is shortened. Because there is no printing and mailing involved, the registration deadline is pushed forward to ten days prior to the test, offering the best convenience for test takers during the registration process.
Better audio quality by the earset:
The earset is provided to test takers to perform their listening test, avoiding distraction from background noise and ensuring audio quality.
Key in answers:
Due to the fact that test takers key in Chinese in their daily practice, the HSK Internet-Based test conveniently assesses test takers’ typing skills.
HSK Testing Rules:
I. Test takers should arrive at the designated testing room 30 minutes before the exam begins. Anyone, who arrives during the Listening Session, may start the exam from the Reading Session. No extension shall be given to make up the lost time. Those who are more than 35 minutes late will be disqualified for the exam.
II. Test takers should present their required photo ID in addition to the exam admission pass when arriving at the testing room. The name on the ID shall match exactly what is shown on the exam admission pass; and the photo must be identifiable. Both documents should be displayed on the top right corner of the desk for inspection. In case no photo ID or a fake ID is presented, the test taker will be denied the exam without refund.
III. Generally, no one is allowed to leave the testing room during the exam. In case of
emergency, however, one can leave at the permission of the examiner. The exam admission pass should be obtained; and the test taker shall present his/her photo ID when reentering the testing room.
IV. Food and drinks are prohibited inside the testing room. In the event of cheating, for instance, taking the exam by another person, stealing or copying from another person, or bringing answers or other related materials into the testing room, the examiner remains the right to terminate his/her exam immediately. The incident will be recorded and reported to Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban), at whose authority the test scores will be cancelled. Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban) also reserves the right to deny the test taker’s retaking the HSK test again.
V. 1) In the event of unfairness to the test taker due to poor management, such as insufficient testing time, or testing equipment malfunction, which causes the test taker unable to complete the test, Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban) will arrange the test taker at the earliest availability for another test at no cost. No compensations for any indirect losses will be granted.
2) In the event of Force Majeure, such as natural disasters or fortuitous accidents, Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban) will arrange another test at the earliest availability or refund all test fees. No compensations for any indirect losses will be granted.
VI. Test takers need to adjust the microphone by following the HSK Test Procedures. In case of questions, please consult the examiner. If paper and pens are needed for the Writing Session, please ask for answering sheets in advance.
