Check Application Status:

Checking your admissions application status is a fairly simple process. It’s only a matter of a few steps:
First, you will need to check the Common Application to see whether you have successfully submitted your application.

If you have, and it’s been at least 10 business days since submitting all of your application materials, you can start checking and monitoring your status online on Wolverine Access.

The Common Application is a not-for-profit membership organization that, since its founding over 35 years ago, has been committed to providing reliable services that promote equity, access, and integrity in the college application process. We serve students, member institutions, and secondary schools by providing applications that students and school officials may submit to any of our over 500 members. Membership is open to colleges and universities that promote access by evaluating students using a holistic selection process.

We take your application every bit as seriously as you do. Please contact us if you see anything that needs attention or should be corrected. If all of the information is correct, you don’t need to respond.

If you’re a new applicant to Michigan:
** Create a secure login ID by creating a “Friend Account” using a valid email address. You’ll use your Friend Account as your login ID to access your application.
** Go to Wolverine Access, click on “New & Prospective Student Business” and login using your newly created ID (your email address) and password. You’ll need to verify your personal information, including your eight-digit UMID, which was emailed to you, as well as your birth date.
** Click on “Application Status” and begin verifying your application.

If you’re a current student or employee at Michigan:
** Go to Wolverine Access.
** Click on “New & Prospective Student Business.”
** Login using your existing UM uniqname.
** Click on “Application Status” and begin verifying your application.

Freshmen Applicants :

** U-M has made an outstanding commitment to freshman applicants and to offering a first-year experience like none other, from an extraordinary range of events and activities to learning communities to an education that moves well beyond the classroom, blending experience and intellect, fact and theory, life and academics into a seamless whole.

Transfer Students :
** The University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions handles transfers for the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts and the College of Engineering. For information about transferring to other U-M schools and colleges, please contact their admissions representatives directly.
