Budget Billing Plan:
Budget billing is designed to ease fluctuations in monthly bills. The Budget Billing Plan is not a discount program; it offers no savings or lower rates. The total annual cost for natural gas remains the same, but customers have the convenience of a more predictable bill each month. Sign up today in the Account Center or give us a call.
The monthly budget billing payment is based on a rolling, 12-month average of your bill amount, exclusive of any service order fees. Your current bill, plus your previous 11 bills, are added together and divided by the total days of service for the last 12 months. This produces a budget bill amount per day, which is then multiplied by the number of days in your current bill cycle.
Each month, 1/12 of your account balance will be added (or subtracted if a credit) to your average bill amount and becomes your current bill – so your bills will vary slightly from month to month.
When you enroll in Atmos Energy Budget Billing, you will receive a monthly statement that includes three amounts:
1. “Current Charges” amount you would pay on Atmos Energy’s regular billing plan.
2. “Monthly Budget Amount” – what you owe as a Budget Billing customer.
3. “Total Budget Balance” – the actual account balance. This is the difference between what your actual bills have been and what you have paid as a Budget Billing customer. This may be a debit or credit.
Electronic Billing Plan:
You can receive your bill by email. Every month, when your bill is ready we will send you an email with a summary of your bill and a link that allows you to log on to the Account Center.
Automatic Payment Plan:
No more worries about late payments or writing a check each month. With the Automatic Payment Plan, your payment is automatically deducted from your financial institution or credit/debit card each month. You will still receive a monthly statement by email notifying you of the bill amount.
Make A One-Time Payment:
Atmos Energy customers can conveniently pay their bill online using debit card, credit card, or checking account information. It’s the fast and easy way to pay.
Pay by Telephone:
Payments can be made by check or credit card by calling 1-888-286-6700.

How can I receive my bill by email?:
Residential and Commercial customers can sign up to receive their bill electronically through the Account Center. Every month, when your bill is ready we will send you an email with a summary of your bill and a link that allows you to log on to the Account Center. In the Account Center you can view, print and pay your bill. You can also review your gas usage, payment history and more.
A verified email address is required for electronic billing. Continue to pay your bill by other methods until you confirm your email address.
Can I pay my bill by phone?:
Call 1-888-286-6700 and follow the prompts to pay your bill through our secure telephone payment service or have one of our Customer Service Associates process a payment for you.
Can I pay my bill online?:
Yes, you can pay online two ways: with Make a One-Time Payment or through the Account Center.
Atmos Energy accepts online payments using a bank account or VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card. (Credit and debit card payments only for residential accounts.)
Can I pay more or less than the amount due?:
If you are using Make a One-Time Payment, you can pay up to $350 more than your current balance. Enter the amount you want to pay in the Payment Amount field. If you choose to pay less than the full amount, please be aware that a late payment charge, if applicable, may be applied to any unpaid balance. Collection action may be taken unless you have made a payment arrangement in the Account Center or by calling a Customer Support Associate at 1-888-286-6700. If you are signed up for the Automatic Payment Plan, you will only be billed the Current Account balance each month.
Can I pay by credit card or debit card?:
Yes, residential customers can now pay by Visa or MasterCard with no extra fee when using online payment methods or calling our Customer Support Center at 1-888-286-6700. Atmos Energy does not accept credit card payments for commercial accounts.
