eVisa Application:

Get eVisa Approval Within 4 Steps

Step-1 : Fill in the secure online visa form:
Applicant is required to enter all the necessary information in the visa form.

Step-2 : Confirm and pay:
Applicant needs to verify all the information entered is correct before proceeding to the next step. Make the payment with Credit Card. Acknowledgement email with application reference code will be sent to applicant’s email.

Step-3 : Get approval letter within 3 days:
Approval process may take up to 3 working days. Applicant will receive eVisa approval letter via email once approved. Print out the approval letter and bring along with passport. You will need to present it upon arrival.

Step-4 : Get eVisa stamped upon arrival:
Upon arrival to Myanmar Immigration checkpoint, present eVisa approval letter and passport to Immigration officer and get the passport stamped.

Terms and Conditions:

** Apart from the professions mentioned in this visa application, you are not allowed to engage in any sort of work with or without charges.
** Applicant shall abide by the laws of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and shall not interfere in the internal affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
** Legal action will be taken against those who violate or contravene any provision of the existing laws, rules and regulations of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
** Applicant shall not be allowed to travel to the restricted area without seeking prior permission.
** It is important to notice that the Approval letter is not a confirmed Visa letter.
** The Approval letter is valid up to 90 days from the date of issue.
** In unfortunate case of if your application is rejected, no reason will be provided or can be requested.
** Processing time is up to (3) working days excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What type of Visa can I apply online?:
You can only apply tourist visa for eVisa.

2. If I have more than one passport, can I apply for the Visa using the particulars from the first passport and then travel with the second passport?:
Travelers are allowed to enter Myanmar with the passport being issued the eVisa.

3. Can I print my Visa in Black and White?:
Yes, you can, as long as it is clear for checking by immigration officer.

4. My trip is delayed and my eVisa is expired. Can you change my eVisa validity date?:
We are not able change the validity dates on your eVisa. We encourage you to re-apply for another visa.

5. I plan to travel from Myanmar to another country for a short trip and return back to Myanmar again. Do I need to apply two Visas within such a short period of time?:
Yes, you will need to apply for two eVisas. Each eVisa is only valid for a single entry.

6. I plan to travel to Myanmar three months later, can I apply now? If not, when can I start applying?:
The validity of permitted visa is (90) days.

7. If my online eVisa application is denied, will I be able to apply Tourist visa through Myanmar embassy?:
Yes. You may apply your visa at Myanmar embassy or online eVisa. However visa application verification policy is the same across the embassies and online applications.

8. I know that (100) countries permitted with eVisa and tourist visa are allowed to enter Myanmar. May I know which countries you will allow more and what kind of will be extended and provided?:
We have a plan to undertake the status step by step.

9. May I know if I enter on a package tour with eVisa from Yangon International airport, which border checkpoint can I exit from?:
You can enter / exit from (3) International Airports, Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and exit from (4) International border checkpoints, Tachileik-Meisai, Myawaddy-Mesauk, Kauthaung-Yannnaung, Hteke-Phunaron.

10. Will Visa on Arrival and Myanmar Embassy continue to issue visa when Myanmar has launched online eVisa?:
Yes. You may apply visa online or at Myanmar Embassy near your location. Visa on Arrival is for Business Visa only.

11. Which department can I contact to ask questions regarding eVisa?:

12. May I know the provision of rules and regulations for visa violation?:
The website of Ministry of Immigration and Population mip.gov.mm has stated the rules and regulations for passengers.

13. Can I contact any Myanmar embassy to check on the status of my eVisa?:
No. Please check your eVisa status online. eVisa once approved an Approval Letter is sent directly to your designated email address.

14. Will I receive my eVisa in postal or do I collect it at the Myanmar checkpoint?:
No. Please check your eVisa status online. eVisa once approved an Approval Letter is sent directly to your designated email address.

15. How do I receive my eVisa Approval Letter?:
When your eVisa application has been approved an Approval Letter is sent to your designated email address. Alternatively you may download your Approval Letter via Visa Application Status Enquiry at https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/. Please take note that the download option is only available to approved application.

  1. I want to check my visa application status. Application IDs are EVP1ACEDBAS3DD44D58 (or) MMTVISA4A7A57D789DC4.

  2. We are arriving on a cruise ship at Yangon. Can I use the e-visa form and send this to the embassy? Should I pay the $50 fee? What should i enter in the “arrival point” field?
