Christopher Strong Natural Resource Management Fellowship Guidelines :

Aim:
To assist with research and/or development and implementation of a project with outcomes relevant to the Tamar Region in either of the following areas:

The Applicant must complete a final project report for inclusion in the Annual Report

a) Rural – Improvement of sustainable agriculture through research, trials and experiments OR improvement and/or maintenance of local ecosystem(s);
b) Urban – Improvement of practices in sustainable living OR improvement and/or maintenance of local ecosystem(s).

Award:
** Funds, up to and not exceeding, $1,500;
** Funds for associated project costs and expenses ONLY;
** Funds judged from the criteria (see below).

Submission:
Complete the attached application form (on page 5). If more application forms are needed, contact the Tamar Natural Resource Management office (email: tamarnrm@launceston.tas.gov.au) or go to the website tamarnrm.com.au/NRM Fellowship

Criteria : The Fellowship will be judged by the Selection Panel on the following:
** It must relate directly to the Tamar Region;
** It must be locally managed;
** It must emphasise improvement in either the rural or urban areas;
** It must be completed within twelve months from funds received.

The Applicant must complete the following;
i) An article on the project outcomes (+ photographs) for the quarterly newsletter ‘Naturally Yours’;
ii) A five minute presentation given at the Annual General Meeting; and
iii) A presentation on the project outcomes at an education based event organised by the office.

Important Component:
Knowledge and resources developed as a result of the Fellowship are to be made available to Tamar Natural Resource Management for use within the Tamar Region community.

Reports :
The Applicant must complete the following;
1 Email a short progress report to the office (tamarnrm@launceston.tas.gov.au) every three months;
2 Present outcomes to the Management Committee at the project conclusion.

Selection Panel: Tamar Natural Resource Management Committee will decide on the successful project

1 Date Open: 1st May 2014
2 Date Close: 31st July 2014 (by 5.00pm)
